Thank God for what some people cavalierly dismiss as "old-fashioned" books! This book is an excellent read. The author writes in beautiful, erudite English, the kind that is seldom, if ever, seen nowadays (more's the pity). Also, Mr. Gribble treats the rather scabrous subject of Lord Byron's alleged incestuous relationship with his sister with delicacy and maturity. The Love Affairs of Lord Byron is a well-researched work and the author makes very good, convincing points. I can only imagine how this book would have turned out if it had been written today: a tawdry, trashy, sensationalist pamphlet, full of filthy words and even filthier sex.Thank you, Mr. Gribble. Pretty racy and fun to read. Quite the colorful character.
